1. How Affiliate Links Work
Some links on Survival Nexus are paid affiliate or referral links. If you click one and complete a qualifying purchase or signup, we may receive compensation from the retailer or service provider. Using one of these links does not add a separate charge to your order. These earnings help maintain the site and support continued research and testing.
2. Amazon Associates Disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Amazon compensation generally falls into two groups:
- Product commissions: Amazon may pay a percentage of qualifying revenue when a reader follows a tagged Amazon link and completes a qualifying purchase. The percentage depends on Amazon’s classification of the purchased product—not the label Survival Nexus gives it.
- Bounty events: Amazon may pay a fixed amount when an eligible reader follows a bounty-specific link and completes the stated action, such as an eligible trial or registration. A click or incomplete signup alone does not necessarily qualify.
Amazon controls eligibility, attribution, product categories, commission rates, bounty amounts, cancellations, returns, and disqualifications. Its schedules can change. For the controlling current terms, see Amazon’s Associates Program Commission Income Statement.
3. What Your Action May Earn Us
| Link type | Reader action | Possible compensation |
|---|---|---|
| Amazon product link | Complete a qualifying purchase during Amazon’s applicable attribution period | A category-based percentage of qualifying revenue |
| Amazon bounty link | Meet the stated eligibility rules and complete the specified signup or action | A fixed bounty set by Amazon |
| Other retailer link | Complete a qualifying purchase under that retailer’s terms | A percentage or fixed commission set by the program |
| Other referral link | Complete the specifically described eligible signup, trial, application, or purchase | Cash, account credit, another benefit, or no payment if the action does not qualify |
We will identify what kind of action a paid link supports. Where a program permits reliable public disclosure of the amount, an offer card may also state the current percentage, fixed payment, or credit. Otherwise, the card will say that we may receive compensation without estimating an amount.
4. Other Affiliate and Referral Programs
We may also partner with retailers, services, or affiliate networks. Each program sets its own attribution window, qualifying actions, rates, exclusions, and payment rules. A referral benefit may be a cash payment, account credit, product, discount, or other benefit; we will describe the material relationship in plain language near the relevant link.
5. Editorial Independence
- We do not accept payment for positive reviews or placements.
- Gear shortlists consider published specifications, manufacturer guidance, safety, reliability, and value.
- We distinguish researched selections from items that have been personally tested.
- Affiliate status does not determine our conclusions.
6. Identifying Paid Links
A disclosure appears close to each commercial recommendation, before or beside the link. Buttons use wording such as “paid link,” and the nearby explanation says that a purchase or signup may compensate Survival Nexus. A general disclosure elsewhere on the site does not replace that link-level notice.
Example disclosure: This is a paid link. If you complete the qualifying purchase or signup, I may receive compensation at no added cost to you.
